Hello, friends!

I’ve heard it over and over again throughout my life, and it’s been absolutely true. I have a lot to say.

I love to write, I love to talk, and I love to connect through story telling. Looking back, it’s also rang true that my favorite people in the world are great story tellers. They always have something to share that can add insight, humor, or compassion into a situation. They are reflective about their experiences, and in many ways, live their life as a quilt. Each block of time is uniquely crafted and stitched together, but while there are many different colors and patterns, there is one thread that holds it together and connects it to the other different but beautiful elements.

I view my life similarly. I know that while I have many different facets and colors growing and glowing throughout my life, there is a single thread of identity that holds it together, and that is my moxie.

If you’ve hung out with me for a while now, you know that this is more than a word to me. Moxie has now become the keystone to my energy and efforts I put into my work. While it has given me a sense of calm and confidence as I faced big choices and obstacles, it also gave me a fire in my belly to remind other women that they have that same force of nature burning within them.

Society and the world around us have done a bang up job with providing us distractions and comparisons that create limiting beliefs and insecurities enough to hold us back. We are taught narratives from a young age about what success, love, and “strong women” look like, but they aren’t always for our best interest.

After many a request, I decided it was time to start my blog. Because I have a lot to say, and a lot of it has to do with the fact that the stories we are told are not a one size fits all. We need to remember that we are intelligent and self-aware enough to observe what’s working for others and know that it is a starting point of learning for careful, intentional application based on our needs and capacities.

My goal with this blog is to get these words out, lift you up with reminders that I am not a model because I’m still in the “middle of it” just like you, and sprinkle in some humor, anecdotes, and inspiration I’ve found in podcasts, books, and resources, too.

I hope you’ll hang with me here long enough to see this develop into the next piece of of the incredible moxie community I’ve been working to build for the last 10 years.

With love & moxie,

Carly
