In the moments before you see your big breakthrough, you’ll feel like you’re about to break down.
Growth isn’t easy, and even though we have years of experience with actual physical growing pains, we often forget about the pain that came from the stretching, the relearning, and the awkward phases that built the character necessary for those “next stages.”
Moxie is ever present. It was with us in the beginning, and quite honestly, was probably the loudest and most impactful during those first steps and terrible twos because ain’t nobody going to tell us nothin’ if we don’t want to hear it as toddlers.
Then, we get old enough “to listen.” We are told how to feel, what to see, how to act, and what we should be doing. The pen is taken from our hands and the story is no longer written for us but read to us.
It’s time to take back the pen.
It’s time to start writing, erasing, and re-writing as we please. It is time to stop settling and stop listening to people we’d never go to for advice.
We are the authors of our own stories.
Right when we are feeling like we are going to break down if we keep working towards this goal for one more second, we are going to write.
We are going to write about our vision. We are going to write about our gifts. We are going to write about and romanticize all that is our current circumstances. We are going to write until our vibration is turned up and tuned in to exactly what we hope and dream for.
We are going to write the next chapter rather than wait for it to be read to us.
We are that woman that is not to be fucked with. In fact, we are quite unfuckwithable. Because when the pen is in our hand, so is the story, so is the outcome.
Dear friend, if you are working through some of the greatest challenges of your life, you are not alone. Those fighting tough battles are tough people with a lot of life left within them.
Right when you get tired, write.
Right when you get worried, write.
Right when you get angry, write.
Right when you feel like quitting, write.
Literally if you wish or figuratively you must – take the pen back and don’t you dare let a ghost writer take your place. Your moxie is the hero and you are the true author of this story.
Right now, write – unapologetically, tenaciously, and honestly.
xo, Carly
