I did WHAT?!

Do you ever think about what your self a few years ago would say about your current self? I honestly think my past self would cock her head to the side, get a funny look on her face, and start laughing in disbelief.

“No way did you follow the nudge to leave education to forge a better way for yourself. You worked so hard and were so proud of your work and your master’s degree.”

Ya, but I am even more proud of how I’ve used those skills and same determination to build a life that supports my family first and simultaneously feeds my ambition.

“No way you sold your dream house, left that little town you called “home” and moved across the country to buy a marina!”

We did. It was wild, but it was right. We’ve downsized our home to build a bigger dream, a legacy business for our family that can support not only the financial goals and needs we have right now, but also our mental and emotional wellness better than any boss we’ve ever had the pleasure (or displeasure) of working for. We get to do it our way. We may have sold the dream house, but it was no longer a part of our visionary plans that were moving with action.

“No way you left your network marketing business that you’d been with for 10 years and started from scratch…that never works.”

I sure did. I left and though I thought more would follow they didn’t . What did happen though was that I was able to rebuild and organization that matched where I am today. I could no longer perpetuate an opportunity that really only worked for those with a large number of followers. I could no longer support a company that instead of offering income empowerment to all through consistent platforms, broadened product portfolio, and investment and advancement of the field was doing the opposite by manipulating top sellers to be an affiliate for a “sister company” that would pay them less, continue to bring back the dead products just in new packaging, and be 10 steps behind every trend. I needed to be treated like an entrepreneur because I was one.

Each of these things seemed outlandish to the outside, but I knew to my core that they were the next right thing to do.

Each time I followed those nudges, obstacles no longer felt like catastrophes just a challenge that I was prepared to handle. Things fell into place, implausible step by implausible step and not only did I see my life grow, but I saw that those I was hoping to bless and impact were experiencing the same growth rather than constant friction and tention in their lives too.

This has never been just about me, and I knew that even before I moved down to Florida and ultimately built a stronger faith that proved Jesus was 10 steps ahead of me in this plan. I knew that I was put on this Earth to use my gifts, and when my gifts weren’t working, I needed to move as the hands and feet of my Maker to find where they would.

You are not stuck. You are positioned at a fork in the road and the spirit is guiding you one step, one nudge, one “something doesn’t feel right” at a time. Follow that.

You have people to bless with your mess, but honey, this mess is going to look beautiful real quick.

xo,

Carly
